Hello! How are people going in the HSC???
I had all my exams in the first week

Now I have one left which is on the last day!
Which basicly means, I finished all my exams and can't even finish early coz my last one is on the last day!!!
Anyways, I stuffed up pretty bad... Esspecially in Legal studies...
Question: Explain how legal instruments help maintain world order, also in your answer include a discussion about [include discussion topic here which i have never heard of before]
Answer: World order is... keeping the..order in the word... *raises hand and walks out of the exam room with 1 1/2 hours left on the clock*
Well I wrote like.. 8 pages on the Family Law essay.. So ... hrm. Stupid Exams.
All the way through the English exam I wrote about Kill Bill

No it's not going to be a long year... it's gonna finish so fast... Then when you're on your last month of school ever... you're gonna wonder where all the time went. I feel like an old person and not a 17 year old girl saying this, but: Enjoy it while it lasts!
I WATCHED KILL BILL YESTERDAY TOO!!! AND TODAY for the 70th or 80th time

I did the HSC in 2002. Now i'm finishing my 2nd year of uni. High school seems like a big nothing now.........probably shouldn't say that since i'm studying 2 b a music teacher. lol.
Hey chooken i'm trying to get a Horus deck going - experimenting at the mo. What do you use that you think goes well with horuses. I noticed u were using Elemental Dragons. Any good?

Maths was hard.. -_____-
Next week's my worst week. 3 subjects in 2 days. -______________-
Chooken
Oct 24 2005, 11:41 PM
Yeah that's like my friends who have Art, then hospitality and then drama in 2 days!
I decided not to do the Hospitality exam so Im safe from that.
I used Elemental dragon with armed dragon, horus and masked dragon... but coz I didnt have armed dragon lv 7 i used TIV as replacement coz I was sposed to be getting one, but that seemed to fail... so Now I'm going back to my original horus deck which was horus/fire...
I used to have field control but with the cards slowly being banned... thats not working to well either

Oct 25 2005, 12:08 AM
Whats your elemental dragon gotta do with HSC? o_O!
Mine's worst. Ancient History, IPT then Chemistry!!!

Oct 25 2005, 09:38 AM
my schedule was quite good,
week 1
monday- english 1
wednesday- french
thursday- english 2
friday- legal studies
week 2
monday- maths
week 3
bludge
week 4
wednesday- business studies
i so owned at the english exams. for paper one i wrote a total of 20 pages. for paper 2 i wrote a total of 22 pages for all 3 modules. damn my hand hurt after that.
french was so easy, since i am french so no probs.
legal studies, 9 pages on family and 8 pages on world order. better than i thought i would do.
maths was so freakin hard. they give you 4 hours worth of questions to do in 3 hours. damn i hate maths, i shouldnt have chosen it, shoulda stuck with IPT.
only got business to go which is my favourite subject and ive never done bad in it this year so i should be fine, hopefully.
peice of advice to anyone going to do the hsc in a later year: only chose subjects you think you can get good results. dont chose a subject because you think its a smart persons subject, dont chopse 4 unit maths and 4 unit english because you think "scaling" will save you. only chose them because your good at them.
Cypher
Oct 25 2005, 01:24 PM
Yeah, especially 4 unit maths. If you don't like to work like me, just do 3 unit. Not as difficult and time consuming.
And choose your favorite subjects. I should've chose History over Chemistry but I didn't and I hate Chem =/
If you like the subject but afraid of bad scaling or something, remember that if you do well in the subject, scaling won't really matter as long as you do well. If you can do that with most of your subjects you can still get a good UAI anyway.

WEEK 2: MATHS, MATHS (3U) (MON, THURS)

yeah, it is "bradsfat@hotmail.com" (don't worry l'll change it soon, then l will let you know.)
Now, you also asked what dx meant, it is the derivitive notation used in differentiation in calculus. (say that 20 times quickly lol)
Now, l may be in year 11, but since l am doing it next year l feel that l can be part of this topic as well
My yearly exams were very difficult. Especially the 2 unit and 3 unit paper. Even the top advanced kids had trouble on the 2 unit paper. As for 3 unit,. no one finished (noone ever does lol.) and it was just diabolical from beginning to end. It was one of two tests l failed (l failed chemistry as well), Chemisty is so hard, and l hate it.

I stand by make remark: Chemistry sux.
Don't worry, Chemistry is really tough just think of it this way. Chem is one of the hardest sciences and you should be proud your doing it and surviving. =D
As for 3 unit, the time usually is a big factor, but you should really try to have a good pace so that when it comes to the HSC or even the trials, you won't run out of time, like i did.. o_O;

I agree. During trials I sat around for an hour and went to sleep for the 2U test.
Alas this was not meant to be

And you better pick up the pace in 3U Maths. The reason why people get raped by 3U is:
a) It's 2 hours

The questions are harder than 2U
c) If you don't know your s*** well, the questions are even harder
d) Practice. Do lots of past papers and you can finish 3U quickly without much problem.
e) James Ruse. Nuff said.

Circle Geometry? Not too complicated IMO.
This year's trials had CGeometry at the first question.
drunken_tiger
Oct 26 2005, 10:38 AM
sif!!! circle geo is hard...along with harder probability ie factorials and perms and combs and also binomials where u have to prove stuff like (nCk) = (n-1 C k-1)+(n-2 C k-2)...or something like that.
24 hrs to go till 3u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Neutrino
Oct 26 2005, 11:08 AM

I liked Paper 1 in English, but for Paper 2 I had a bit of problems because I had trouble with one of my texts for telling the truth.
drunken_tiger
Oct 28 2005, 12:24 PM
really u do telling the truth too? well i guess u didnt do frontline right? coz that was just an generic essay hehehe

4u is a lot of work but if u keep doing the hours u will get decent results. I however did not bother to do those hours.

for 7a) let the point where r touches the circle be X, u can consider the triangle PTX and work out a equation for tanA...this is the way they want u to use, as u need it for 7b.
i used the cosine rule instead, which got the same answer, however it left me no possible way to do 7b...
