Hey guys,

As most of you know, I work at Toys R Us in Chatswood, and those who didn't know, well, surprise!!

This post may get deleted pretty quickly since it's kind of advertising, but here's hoping it stays up! Toys R Us has had a pre-order set up for the Nintendo Wii for a while now. Basiclly, you put down a $50 deposit, and when the console comes out, the $50 comes off the total price AND you get a FREE GAME from ANY of the launch titles (and Nintendo are now saying they aim to have 51 games out on launch).

The reason I'm posting this is because there is a contest going on between stores now for who can do the most pre-orders, and if there's anyone interested in purchasing the console, you'll be doing yourself AND me a favour!

So come on all you gamers, drop into your nearest Toys R Us (Chatswood would be nice) and pre-order! We've also got pre-orders for the new pokemon games ($10 deposit gets you a free pokemon keyring and $10 off voucher to use on ANY DS game) and the new World of Warcraft PC Game ($10 deposit gets you the game for $10 cheaper than RRP and you get a $5 discount coupon to use on time cards).

Thanks!
Andrew
em0rly?

How much would the Wii cost?
muli
Nintendo haven't confirmed a price for the Wii as of yet, nor a release date. Original talk was that it would be no more than US$250, which converts to about AU$350-400. If you compare this to a $650 XBOX360 or a $999 PS3, it's certainly the cheapest of the next gen consoles.
kehw
have you seen the controler its jank and plus it movment activated so if you wanna go left you move your controller to the left
Death Wish
Its not jank, its innovative, you can turn it around to be like the NES controller.
kehw
oh thats ok then
muli
Bump! C'mon guys, it's the Wii! Only had a few takers off the forum so far.
Turneround360
Im gonna get one, still dunno where from though, Toys R Us seems like a good deal, but untill I can get a definite release date and cost Im not gonna pre-order. That aside, im kinda short on cash...
muli
Well in response to that, the $50 deposit is refundable if you change your mind, and the free game offer is strictly for the early pre-order customers. Once we have firm dates and prices, they'll probably change the offer. I'm not sure what they'll change it to, but it won't be as good value as a free game.

That aside, the release date is announced in the states on the 15th (their Friday, our Saturday morning).
Turneround360
The 15th of November?
muli
No no, they announce the release date on the 15th of this month.
dd_assailant
when does the chinpokomon games come out
muli
If you mean the Mystery Dungeon games, they'll be out on the 28th of Sep. If that's not what you're talking about, I have no idea!
dd_assailant
whats the mystery dungeon
muli
They're the new pokemon games coming out on GBA and NDS
dd_assailant
hmmm cool

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Wii will be released in Australia on December 7th. RRP is $399.95 and the initial batch sent out will be bundled with Wii Sports for free.

This gives you even more reason to pre-order! Since it's only the initial batch that will be shipped with Wii Sports, you're more than likely to miss out on it if you don't pre-order. Not to mention, if you pre-order, you still get a free game, and that can be ANY of the titles brought out on launch (zelda anyone?).

Hope to see you all in Chatswood soon!
EroHiro
sweet. u know what games will be on the launch of the Wii?
Turneround360
Damm, It comes out the 7th, I dont come back from Holis until the 9th
muli
Ero: The nintendo website is starting to list their available titles, just go to http://wii.nintendo.com/software.html The important one that will be out on launch is Zelda, but they'll be adding new titles to that list right up until launch.

Turnaround: Well I suspect stores are going to sell out by then, so PRE-ORDER! (Man, I feel like I'm constantly giving the sales pitch!)
EroHiro
Blast! no Super Smash Brothers Brawl yet

When you pre-order, can up pay the ful price up front? How long do they hold it for as after it comes out

We only accept a $50 deposit. We generally hold preorders for a month, and you will be contacted with plenty of advance warning if you're running out of time (we're not like EB who sell their preordered stock - bad experience...).
Turneround360
Do you get your free launch game saved for you as well?
Cypher
Um yeah, I'm going to Taiwan for a month on the 6th.

>_>
TrojanPony
Thanks for this muli! Unfortunately I can't get it from Chatswood (unless you can give me free delivery/shipping). Thanks for the info, but I'll get it from Hurstville - is it all Toys'R'Us stalls?
muli
Turnaround - we're not actually reserving the games, just the Wii itself. Games it'll be first come best dressed, so if it's Zelda you're after (which I think most people are), and you've preordered with us, keep your ears out for whether there's a midnight launch (we did it for 360)! otherwise come in nice and early on the 7th smile.gif Failing that, if you come to the store and we've run out of the title you want, we can always keep your Wii until we're restocked with whatever game you're after, give you a call, and you can come in and purchase it then.

TrojanPony - yeh all toys r us are offering the pre-order, so feel free to drop into hurstville any time and put a deposit down! they haven't had too many preorders so far so chances of you getting whatever game you want on launch are pretty high!

so pre order and pick it up when you get back tongue.gif we can hold onto them, that's no problem, but you wouldn't want to come back having not preordered and try to pick one up when everyone's out of stock
