I remember two years ago, the teachers made it seem like the school certificate was important...
I guess it'll be the same when/ if you get into a uni. After you get into it... the UAI isnt that important anymore is it?

As long as you do good in uni, you can switch course to whatever you want.

If you ever get to uni, suddenly perspective shifts to:
"Oh, man, at least it's over 50!"
Seriously, at uni, it's like "80.35? Man, you must be genius or something at this subject."

What are your other choices? Just apply for one you can do and won't do badly in and after the year is over, change to the subject that you want. You'll only need like a credit average to change degrees I think.
It does take a bit longer, but try to do some courses that are relevant to your subject so you would've done some of your subjects when you switch.
And seriously Angus, no one cares.

The HSC and your subsequent UAI are nothing but numbers that will probably be forgotten in the mists of time.
The difference is what you do with it. Work hard, Brad, that's the right mental attitude you got there.

Nice score Brad. Good luck in Uni.

Dec 21 2006, 01:59 PM
Yeah, what Jason said.
As long as you do well in Uni, you can do what you want. The UAI is not the life deciding mark (unlike in Asian countries). When you're looking for a job, they look at work experience and uni marks (only if it's your first job, if you have good work experience you're set anyway).

Thanks for the support everyone. Not that it matters, but they bumped my UAI up to 80.65 for some reaseon.....
To Chester: I needed 98.6 to get into vet science at Sydney Uni
Didn't get it so l thought l would get 83 for Bachelor of science. Didn't get it. So now here is my plan
Go to UNSW, for science and get in for 73. Hopefully do really well and transfer to the double degree of medicine and Surgery.
SOMEONE PLEASE CLARIFY CAN I DO THIS???? ^^^^^
